Objectives:
- Describe SAP Employee Self-Services (ESS) standard scenarios and
adjusting them in Customizing. The focus is on scenarios in HR.
- Understand the interplay of SAP Enterprise Portal, translation layer,
and SAP R/3 HR system in terms of the essential features in the technical
infrastructure
- Adapt ESS scenarios in the intranet or Internet and make them available
to employees, using different techniques
- Use business packages in SAP Enterprise Portal and adapt them to
suit customer needs
- Understand the structures in SAP Enterprise Portal (for example,
role, workset, page) and the connection to the SAP R/3 HR system
Content:
- Description and testing of the individual ESS scenarios for SAP
R/3 Enterprise in SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 (EP 6.0)
- System infrastructure with portal, translation layer, and back-end
system (SAP R/3 HR) and interplay of the individual components
- SAP Enterprise Portal as a means of access to ESS services
- Creation and assignment of ESS roles in SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0
- Authorization and (central) user administration, and user management
- Customizing ESS applications in SAP R/3
